I pulled out the mushrooms from the ground and placed them up side down on a piece of white paper and photographed them

When the sun was in the right position it cast the  shadows on the texture of the split rocks

I photographed each post on one side in the morning and came back to photograph the other side in the afternoon sun

Viewing the photos on the computer the characters were very obvious
