I'd suggest running additional counterspells if you cut this card

Get them out and just two mana rocks and you have an infinite, have three mana rocks and you're net mana each loop

After all, energy counters make the resource list with all-time hits like mana and life total

At best I think it will be slightly worse than normal affinity and at worst it will never look like winning a game and until I have built and played it I wont know
