Since each Shrine is legendary, it's impossible to have multiples of one on the battlefield at once, making them incredibly hard to build around in 60 card competitive formats like M:TG Standard

Green is also exceptional at creating an immense mana advantage, typically with cheap cards like mana dorks (Llanowar Elves, Badgermole Cub) and land-based ramp, which is pretty unique to green (Rampant Growth, Cultivate)

That said, there is still potential here in Commander
