They provide an exceptional amount of power for their price, and with a similar counterspell package backing them up, these cards excel when attached to Champion of the Flame or Valduk, Keeper of the Flame

Both cards actually have very useful abilities and if they had been printed with appropriate mana costs they'd probably be very good

Ravensburger certainly heard the cries but made the unusual decision to errata (retrospectively change the card) rather than ban it

The first two abilities are fine, fair, and very strong
