Theres enough whenever you turn a creature face-up triggers here that I want to minimize how often our manifest and cloak effects can miss and leave us with inert 2/2s

One of the reasons this card was banned was that the synergies with Manifold Mouse were too strong: They allow you to target your Heartfire Hero for free to trigger valiant and give it a +1/+1 counter, while you also give the Hero double strike for a turn

Then the Rings tempts you

you can kill your opponent, or kill a blocker by pumping your creature, or (in a multiplayer game) pump an opponents creature so that another opponent dies and just look at that bi creature die at end of turn
