The check land cycle is fine, but only really good in budget decks with extra Basics to ensure they enter untapped
Wicked Wolf was an important part of Food decks in Standard, where it was a good partner to Oko, Thief of Crowns and Gilded Goose
You can notably use its second ability on Sazh itself, so it can attack as a 5/5 at minimum and potentially even more if you have other ways to place +1/+1 counters on it

If you want a higher or lower powered version of the archetype, then Id suggest looking to a Commander like Hofri Ghostforge or Joshua, Phoenixs Dominant, both of which I have lists for here and here
