The card was a lot of work, but I'm very happy with how it turned out

The only question I have is the timing for both of these events

Each of them is a 1/1 Spirit with flying in addition to its other types

We imagine there'll be a big ol' boat revealed for MTG Assassin's Creed sooner or later, and these new salty sea dogs might fit with some of the pirate ships released in Lost Caverns of Ixalan too

In short, there are just better instants in both red and blue you could be playing for three mana, especially in spellslinger strategies where mana is precious until you hit a critical mass of rituals
