Thurid also gives all those creatures a bonus +1/+1, which is a pretty solid lord effect to have in the Command Zone

Shift mechanics [edit] Shift is the ability to upgrade character cards in play with a different character card with the same name

Any of these could aid in drastically lowering the cost of Explosive Singularity.
