Among these modes includes making your opponent discard two cards, dealing three damage to anything, destroying either an artifact or a planeswalker (goodbye Urza!), giving you creatures menace and trample for the turn, giving creatures you dont control -1/-1, or creating two tapped Powerstone tokens

This does let you pick off all of your opponents X/1s, and if you have some ways to give up creatures -- like with Blight -- it can do even more

If you put a Cave onto the battlefield this way, you gain 4 life
