Your Harnessed Lightning is always going to take up as much (or as little) of your energy reserve as it needs to answer that must-kill threat
This is very different from, lets say, custom alter cards, as the art on those is the property of the people who make them, and also, you know you arent buying a real card. Play it safe if you print the back of an MTG card and put a custom-altered version on the front, and restrict its use to kitchen table rules
*As a sidenote, I also submitted a miscut card report to TCPi and their response was: I could send it in to them and receive a corrected version of the same card and something else for your time and shipping cost if they dont have the card they say theyll send another of the same rarity and type from another expansion (?!)
