Antique Indian Silk Embroidered Shawl or Pelmet: 19th Century, Kutch, India. gold embroidery EARLY 19TH CENTURYA museum quality ultra fine silk embroidered shawl from Kutch in India, circa 19th century. The hand worked embroidery incorporates two central botch motifs with stylised Tree of Life and floral motifs. All hand worked in chain stitch using beautiful soft coloured silks. This panel is finished with a hand knotted silk fringe. The condition is good for an antique textile from this era, it has one historic patch repair and some later conservation work.
