The Hardy series is a range of chairs and tables inspired by Thomas Hardy's poem Old Furniture, an ode to the sentimentality of furniture being handed down the generations. At the start of the poem Hardy reminisces about old family furniture passed down through generations and I drew parallels here with my own work. Irwin explains.
