This shield is made from a heavy gauge brass. As you can see this shield saw service. The right picture is the front & the upper left nail hole has a slight bend thru it & it looks by the other nail holes as if this shield was pulled from the saddle. Very strong & very durable though. About 1. 7 x 1. 7 inches. The patina is a flawless green plum colour.
