The comb is quite large in comparison with most other Viking Age finds, which requires larger, rarer sheets of bone to craft. The comb was found in grave Bj 581 and belonged to a 10th Century professional warrior who had also been buried with a sword, an axe, a spear, armour piercing arrows, a battle knife, two shields, and two horses, one mare and one
