Original American Army Air Corps Match Vesta Case (Early 20th Century Origins) Sweetheart Brooches the original A-2 jackets areAn interesting item, a vesta match case, with the AAF winged prop mounted on the front (looks like an Enlisted collar disc). Patent numbers inside and "English Make" on the back. This phrase was superceded by "Made in England" and had generally fallen out of use by around 1910, useful in dating the case and perhaps indicating it was purchased second hand by a US soldier when posted to England, who added the winged prop.
