低く構えた姿と、蓮葉形のやわらかな輪郭があり、菓子器としてはもちろん、茶席では建水として静かに据えてもよいと思います。

柿右衛門手の白磁草虫文蓋茶碗です。

しかし、古瀬戸とするには、首が長く、灰釉の出方も異なります。ともすると、中国のものでしょうか。類例を随分探しましたが、現時点で見つけられず不明なままの出品です。

黄地に粉彩で色鮮やかな花卉紋が見事に描かれています。
