Produced during the rather ostentatious Rococo period, this lady, despite her mature years, is attired in a fine, rather fashionable ensemble. With themes of love, leisure and nature, the Rococo was defined by its extravagance and, simultaneously, its elegance. Outfits often featured pastel colours, as we see here with the cloak, and women
