if you use pads that have any cuts or tears in the surface the clamping pressure will not be constant and can also mark the top of the moulding

if the right one is faulty the cutting head jumps forwards on start up and If both are faulty the Morso can start cutting all by itself on start up

Morso owners should keep a spare pair as it's common for these springs to break / lose tension and never be tempted to use your Morso with only one spring fitted (unless you don't like having as many fingers)
