Chocolate Calcite Cluster kit resulting from compositional fluctuations duringChocolate Calcite Cluster from Leiping Mine, Chenzhou, Hunan, China, featuring a special layered structure: the core is chocolate brown calcite, encased by a transparent thin calcite shell. These large rhombohedral crystals have flat faces, sharp edges and parallel growth striations with strong vitreous luster. Iron minerals dye the core into uniform chocolate tone, with yellowish brown original growth bands enclosed inside. Intergrown crystals form
