Lord Grosvenor Year:2 YR Tender and sweet with aA Codlin apple (codlin codling is an old English name for green cooking apples). Medium sized green fruit turning to gold with a slight russet. White flesh that is tender, soft and juicy with a slight tang. Makes an excellent tart sauce. Popular in damp, windy areas such as the Welsh Marches and Cornwall. Heavy annual crop. Harvest mid August. Keeps up to two months. First mentioned in 1872 at Merriott in Somerset, although probably much older.
