Amsonia hybrida 'Blue Ice', Blue Star conifer Butterflies will alightClusters of vivid, purplish blue star flowers emerge from purple black buds in late spring and summer. Golden yellow fall foliage color makes it valuable in the fall garden, too, especially when planted in a drift. Best in full sun. Drought tolerant once established but does its best with some summer water (~once a week). Mature size: 2 ft T x W Minimum temperature: 20 F (The last two pics show fall leaf color.)
