This rod was built in 1971

The grip is 11 corks and is done in what I would call a Hawes style (it tapers up most of the way to the front cork check and turns down just before the end)

This rod is still very fishable with a little care not to get it too wet

The pewter oxidation at the ferrules has no sign of any wear

Carmel era (mid 1920s to early 1930s). Made for Abbey & Imbrie. The rod is in excellent original condition and comes with its original bag and tube. The rod features stunningly deep flamed cane with chestnut brown silks and gold tipping. The script is in the characteristic Edwards' yellow and the Abbey & Imbrie decal is in fine condition.
