Either way, a 1-mana protection spell is totally acceptable, and with split second to boot, its hard not to think about jamming this in any deck that wants to win with green creatures that might face targeted removal
The main way is by exiling the top card of your opponent's library and allowing you to cast that spell using mana of any color
