The ability to thin out your deck at a whopping rate of three basic lands at a time is absolutely massive, especially if youre on the draw, as you will always at least for the first five or so turns usually be able to trigger this upkeep ability
Its also a big flavor win, since it fits really well in a Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain deck which also cares about historic cards
I think that was solely due to being so exhausted from constant, nonstop preview seasons and just not having the bandwidth to process 80 new cards every other week
